Yury Ivanov

Assistant Researcher

Yury Ivanov is a faculty member in the School of Exact Sciences at Andrés Bello University. He graduated from the Department of Physics at Moscow State University. Beginning in 1980, he worked at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR, Dubna, Russia) and earned his Ph.D. in Physics and Mathematics at the institute’s Laboratory of Theoretical Physics. Between 1999 and 2003, Ivanov worked at the Institute of Theoretical Physics (ITP) at Heidelberg University (Germany). In 2003, he specialized in network technologies, and in 2004 he began working as a system administrator for the JINR’s LCG2 (part of the Worldwide LHC Computing Grid project). Between 2007 and 2021, he worked as a researcher and system administrator at the data center of the Federico Santa María Technical University and the Valparaíso Science and Technology Center (CCTVal). Since August 2021, he has served as a faculty member in the Faculty of Exact Sciences at Andrés Bello University. Research areas: -Theoretical physics (particle and field theory, high-energy physics, particle physics phenomenology, and Monte Carlo simulations) -Computational mathematics (analytical and numerical methods) -Distributed computing networks
