SAPHIR Monitors

Monitors Team 5 | Saphir Millennium Institute

The team of instructors at the SAPHIR Millennium Institute is dedicated to bringing particle physics to the public, transforming complex concepts from fundamental research into accessible, interactive experiences open to people of all ages.

Through in-person activities in various regions of the country, the team conducts interactive talks, hands-on workshops, science booths, and demonstrations that help people understand how we study matter, elementary particles, and the universe in major international experiments.

These activities are part of outreach programs at schools, universities, cultural venues, and public events, including regional science fairs and national science festivals, such as the Science Festival and the Puerto de Ideas Festival in Antofagasta.

Monitors Team 6 | Saphir Millennium Institute

The team's work is not just about communicating results, but also about fostering dialogue: answering questions, dispelling myths about science, and showing how particle physics research—including the work carried out at CERN—relates to technology and everyday life.

In this way, SAPHIR aims to contribute to an active scientific culture by fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and open access to knowledge throughout Chile.
