Giovanna Cottin

Research Associate

Giovanna specializes in particle phenomenology in theories beyond the Standard Model. She earned her Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom. She subsequently completed a postdoctoral fellowship at National Taiwan University in Taipei and another at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. She is currently an Assistant Professor at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. Her research includes the study of predictions for new hypothetical particles in theories beyond the Standard Model of particle physics. She is interested in models that predict particles with long half-lives capable of explaining the masses of neutrinos and dark matter, as well as the implications of their signals in high-energy physics experiments, such as the Large Hadron Collider at CERN.
