Nuclear physicist, Research Associate at the SAPHIR Millennium Institute, and Director of the Center for Research in Nuclear Physics and Neutron Spectroscopy (CEFNEN) at the Chilean Nuclear Energy Commission (CCHEN). His expertise combines experimental nuclear physics with an openness to new ideas and disciplines, addressing topics ranging from the behavior of neutrons and cosmic rays to the study of fundamental properties of atomic nuclei, including the development of advanced nuclear instrumentation.
With over a decade of experience, he has worked on both fundamental and applied projects covering the analysis of neutron fluxes, the calibration of detectors in complex environments, the use of data science in nuclear physics, and the exploration of new materials—including nanocomposites—to improve shielding and radiation protection. Throughout his career, he has published more than 100 articles in specialized journals, solidifying his scientific contributions in Chile and internationally.
